A new public garden next to the Central Goldfields Art Gallery is officially open for all to enjoy.
Named garingilang gatjin wii, meaning ‘garden of water and fire’ in Dja Dja Wurrung language, the garden features artworks and plantings that are significant to Djaara (Dja Dja Wurrung People).
Designed collaboratively with Djaara community representatives and artists, the garden’s plantings, artworks and rockworks create an open and welcoming natural space.
The garden was jointly funded by the Victorian Government and Central Goldfields Shire, and delivered by Dja Dja Wurrung Enterprise DJANDAK.
Find it at 1 Neill St, Maryborough.
