How can you make an impact?

This role is about supporting our First Nations employees, making sure they have a workplace where they feel strong, respected, and culturally safe. You’ll be the go-to person for cultural safety, advocating for our people and ensuring that DJAARA’s policies, training, and workplace culture align with First Nations ways of being, knowing, and doing.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Creating a culturally safe space – Supporting our mob to speak up, feel included, and stay strong at work.
  • Building connections – Checking in with First Nations employees across the organisation, listening to their experiences, and making sure their voices are heard.
  •  Championing cultural competency – Encouraging and tracking cultural training, reinforcing cultural safety messages, and working with leadership to embed Indigenous perspectives in our workplace.
  • Providing advocacy and support – Standing beside our people when they need guidance, support, or representation.
  •  Helping shape policies and practices – Making sure DJAARA’s ways of working reflect cultural safety and best practices for supporting First Nations employees.
What will you bring?
  • Experience in cultural safety, employee wellbeing, or community engagement
  • Strong people skills – you know how to yarn, listen, and advocate
  • The ability to work with different teams and keep things confidential
  • A deep commitment to cultural safety, respect, and inclusion
  • A Working with Children’s Check
