The Role
DDWCAC is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individual to provide advice and support to our Finance, Audit, Risk Standing Committee (FARSC) as a subject-matter expert. This committee supports the Board in overseeing financial integrity, risk management, and audit processes.
Members of FARSC play a key role in ensuring DDWCAC’s financial and operational resilience, and in promoting best practice governance aligned with our cultural and statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and advice on financial, audit, risk matters
- Attend up to four scheduled committee meetings annually
- Be available to the Chair between meetings for consultation as required
- Review and monitor financial performance, risk registers, and audit outcomes
- Support compliance with relevant legislation and standards
- Contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies
- Uphold DDWCAC’s values and cultural governance principles
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in financial governance, risk management, or audit
- Familiarity with the CATSI Act and Aboriginal Heritage Act is highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of not-for-profit or Indigenous governance frameworks
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Prior experience in committee or board roles is desirable
