 The Role

DDWCAC is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individual to provide advice and support to our Finance, Audit, Risk Standing Committee (FARSC) as a subject-matter expert. This committee supports the Board in overseeing financial integrity, risk management, and audit processes.

 Members of FARSC play a key role in ensuring DDWCAC’s financial and operational resilience, and in promoting best practice governance aligned with our cultural and statutory obligations.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and advice on financial, audit, risk matters
  • Attend up to four scheduled committee meetings annually
  • Be available to the Chair between meetings for consultation as required
  • Review and monitor financial performance, risk registers, and audit outcomes
  • Support compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  • Contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies
  • Uphold DDWCAC’s values and cultural governance principles

 Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  1. Demonstrated experience in financial governance, risk management, or audit
  2. Familiarity with the CATSI Act and Aboriginal Heritage Act is highly advantageous
  3. Strong understanding of not-for-profit or Indigenous governance frameworks
  4. Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  5. Prior experience in committee or board roles is desirable
