How can you make an impact?
As our Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our people are paid accurately, on time, and in line with Award and legislative requirements.
You’ll be responsible for delivering end-to-end payroll processing and supporting payroll compliance and systems, while working closely with the broader finance team. Your attention to detail and reliability will help maintain efficient and accurate payroll operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of payroll and providing clear, helpful support to colleagues and managers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing end-to-end payroll processing with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
- Interpreting Awards and employment conditions to ensure correct entitlements
- Acting as a key contact for payroll queries and more complex matters
- Preparing reconciliations, reports, and supporting audits
- Maintaining payroll systems and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Supporting broader finance functions including accounts payable/receivable when needed
- Sharing your knowledge and supporting colleagues across the organisation
What will you bring?
- Solid experience (3+ years) managing payroll independently
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Awards, and compliance
- Confidence in handling reconciliations, reporting, and audit processes
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong systems skills (Excel and payroll systems)
- The ability to communicate complex payroll matters clearly and respectfully
- A genuine respect for Aboriginal culture and values
