Djaara have lived on our traditional lands and cared for Djandak over many thousands of years.
For us, Djandak is more than just a landscape, it is more than what is visible to the eye; it is a living entity which holds the stories of creation and histories that cannot be erased.
Our Martinga kuli (Ancestors) looked after this Country and it is for this reason, we are duty bound to look after it for the future generations.
Our members are an important part of the governance of DJAARA. They make important decisions about how DJAARA is ran, including who its family directors are, and how we manage the services we provide.
The principal objectives of DJAARA is to promote the health and wellbeing of Dja Dja Wurrung People and to protect and promote the laws, Culture, property rights and human rights of our People.
We need members to ensure we reach these objectives and to achieve the goals and aspirations of our Dhelkunya Dja (Healing Country) Country Plan.
